As Genmaicha enthusiasts, we were on a mission to find the finest blend. Our journey brought us to this one. The unique and delicate flavour profile immediately won us over.

What sets this Genmaicha apart? It is uniquely made by blending roasted brown rice with the finest first-flush tamaryokucha. While the majority of genmaicha on the market uses second or third flush teas, resulting in a somewhat harsh and astringent flavour, our blend offers a smooth and gentle taste. 

This tea is characterized by its refreshing cereal aromas, making it a perfect complement to meals. Additionally, its lower caffeine level makes it a perfect choice for a calming evening drink.

Did you know?: Tamaryokucha, also known as 'coiled green tea,' is a variant closely related to sencha. It is distinguished by its naturally curled shape, thanks to skipping the final shaping process in its production. This lesser degree of processing contributes to a higher umami content.  Kyushu stands out as one of the rare regions cultivating this tea.

Temperature: 80°C - 90°C

Steeping time: 30 - 60 seconds

To bring out the umami, try brewing at 80°C for 60 seconds. If you prefer a refreshing, aromatic cup, brew at 90°C for 30 seconds.
