This tea is brought to you by the same farmers who created the Ao Hōjicha. We couldn't wait to sample their latest creation, and it was love at first sip.
This tea is crafted through a unique semi-fermentation method, in which the leaves undergo a 24-hour oxidation period. This process yields an exceptional taste with subtle peachy accents.
What differentiates this oolong is its production technique. Instead of the common pan-firing method used for most oolong teas, these leaves are carefully steamed. This approach yields a gentle, grassy aftertaste similar to that of sencha.
Did you know?: In Japanese, "Ao" can mean blue or green, depending on the context. Here, it conveys the fresh, green taste that is a feature of this special oolong.
