I'm Avery, and I'm the founder of the green tea shop.

I grew up in the beautiful region of Kyushu in Japan, specifically in Fukuoka Prefecture, which is famous for its outstanding tea culture. When I moved to Canada in 2019, I found myself longing for the familiar and comforting tastes of home. Driven by these warm recollections, I decided to open this little green tea shop to share the wonderful flavours of Kyushu with you.

About Our Selection 

Our specialty is loose leaf teas, which we truly believe offer a superior tea experience. They provide a deeper flavour, deliver a more satisfying taste, and are also friendlier to the environment.

Our selections hail from the Kyushu region, where we’ve taken care to choose teas that represent the regional culture well. Among our offerings, you'll find our Genmaicha that brings a unique touch from Kyushu, and our curated Kamairicha—a pan-fired variety that's quite a rarity in Japan—ensuring that our teas have a distinctive regional character. Furthermore, early harvest of Kyushu teas could be the answer for those who find most Japanese green teas a tad too bitter - this earlier picking results in a gentler, naturally sweeter taste compared to teas hailing from other areas.

We're dedicated to selecting teas of exceptional quality that are meant for everyday enjoyment. These are the teas we grew up with, the comforting flavours we sipped daily, which we're now excited to bring to your routine.

You'll notice the absence of matcha in our selection, a choice we've made deliberately. Though matcha is a delightful indulgence (and Kyushu's tea artisans create some of the finest!), it often plays the role of a special occasion tea in Japan, not your go-to daily cup. Our core aim has been, and always will be, to share the simple pleasure of a daily tea ritual with you.

We find ourselves at an intersection of detailed know-how and effortless execution. Correct technique is crucial to extract the best flavours from the tea, but the intricate equipment used in traditional tea preparation can be daunting for the everyday tea drinker.

We aim for accuracy and simplicity to ensure you brew an amazing cup of tea every single day. This is why we encourage the use of electric tea kettles, scales, and other tools as part of your brewing equipment.

You'll also find that the teaware we've carefully chosen contributes to an effortless experience of enjoying tea. It's all designed to be dishwasher safe and easy to upkeep. Moreover, the teaware features a contemporary and visually appealing design.
