Yabukita Asamushi Sencha
Mix, match, and save â 10% off when you choose 5 or more teas
This sencha is made from Yabukita, the most widely grown tea cultivar in Japan â accounting for over 70% of the country's tea production. If you've had Japanese green tea before, there's a good chance it was Yabukita. It's considered the classic, quintessential taste of sencha.
What makes this one different: it's organically grown in the mountainous region of Kirishima, cultivated with care by two sisters. The organic growing process also means more fibrous leaves, which means this tea can handle hotter brewing water (80°C/176°F) than most sencha without turning bitter.
Flavour: Lightly steamed to preserve the leaf shape, this tea brews to a bright yellow hue with a clean, refreshing bitterness balanced by a subtle hint of sweetness.
